Quixx Wants a View of your Red, White & Blue

Posted by: admin on Jun 27, 2011 in Blog, June 2011 | No Comments

The fourth of July is around the corner and to celebrate, Quixx is giving away a $300 gas card to one lucky winner!  To enter, just post a photo of a red, white or blue car to the QUIXX Facebook page.  Whether it is a car that you personally own, a friend’s car, or even just a cool car that you admire in a parking lot!  As long as it is red, white or blue (or all three!), you will automatically have a chance to win. Post the photo directly on the QUIXX USA Facebook page and let the votes rack in.

The photo to get the most votes (likes / comments), will be the grand prize winner of a $300 gas card. It is as easy as that!

Contest runs from June 27, 2011 to July 8, 2011. The winner will be announced via Facebook, Twitter and our blog! Creativity is welcomed.  Now let’s see who has America’s most patriotic car!

How Many Scratches Will You Get This Summer?

Posted by: admin on Jun 9, 2011 in Blog, June 2011 | No Comments

No – we’re not talking about the kind you get hiking through the woods or slipping on the rocks at the cottage.  The worst summer scratches are the ones you get on your car every time you load in (or on) the canoe, the camping gear, the bikes – or even just the suitcases.

And cars are only part of the summer scratch story.  Imagine what your boat goes through every summer?  The wear and tear on its body from salt water, and taking it in and out of the water detracts from the beauty and value of your boat.

No matter your sport, our active summers can wreak havoc on your paint and acrylic finishes.  The truth is:

  1. Every car and boat will get scratched, no matter how hard you try to avoid it
  2. Even when we think we are doing something good, the most common way to scratch your car is by doing it yourself with cheap soaps or detergents that don’t properly lift dirt (also watch out for those drive-through car washes!)
  3. Professional scratch repair could cost anywhere from $200 – $1200, or more
  4. Scratches will instantly devalue your vehicle or boat, which will cause you to lose money on the future sale (or a lease return of a car)
  5. Most scratch removers just cover up or temporarily clean scratches, and do not work on scratches deep enough to feel with your fingernail

Ugly scratches are unavoidable over time.  But that doesn’t mean you have to live with them.  Marc Forget, expert detailer and owner of Street Freaks Detailing in Montreal, Quebec says, “by following a few easy steps, you can minimize scratches and easily fix the ones you already have.”

  1. Examine your paint for new scratches frequently.  I recommend doing this during your weekly washing routine.
  2. Use only high quality products.  Avoid using dish soap, which can only aggravate and cause scratches.
  3. Permanently remove scratches with QUIXX High Performance Paint Scratch Remover.  Other scratch removers only work temporarily.
